Lyrics and Songs The Irish Connection 2 - The Irish Soul:
Facts
When you think of Ireland what comes to mind ?
The green fields and the waves crashing against the cliffs, the smoky pubs, a pint of Guinness and a malt whiskey. The sound of Uilleann pipes, fiddle and whistles blending with guitars and accordion ? The sound of traditional music or dance ? Ireland has so much to offer in music, culture, the land and of course the people.
It's also the country with the most wins in the Eurovision Song Contest, thanks in no small measure to Johnny Logan who has won the contest an incredible 3 times, both as an artist and as a songwriter.
It has been 32 years since his 1st victory with the aptly titled "What's Another Year", 25 years since "Hold Me Now" and 20 years since "Why me". Over this time he has consistently appeared on stages all over the world. Others came and went - he stayed ! His versatility as a singer /songwriter, his distinctive voice and his genuine talent are as responsible for his success as is his honest down to earth personality. He is not someone who puts on a smile or a friendly face just for television but someone who genuinely loves and respects his music and his audience. The fact that he has never changed is surely due in no small measure to his upbringing and a deep attachment to his Irish home. In his new cd „The Irish Connection 2".( "The Irish Soul", ) he returns again to his roots.
In 2007 he released his 1st Irish cd "The Irish Connection" in Scandinavia. This collection of well known Irish songs, which he learned growing up in Ireland, enjoyed phenomenal success, achieving double platinum status in Norway and Denmark and gold in Sweden.
It's 5 years on now and once again he has decided to revisit his musical roots with "The Irish Connection 2". His choice of songs this time is chosen from the music and artists that have stayed with him over the years and it reflects the Irish music of today, as well as yesterday. Songs like "Irish Heartbeat" by Van Morrison and "Fairytale of New York" by Shane McGowan are blended with the number 1 hit, "Galway girl" by Steve Earle, Alongside classics such as "Lannigans Ball" and "The Holy Ground" they are given a modern, live treatment in the arrangements. "Dearg Doom" by Horslips, he used to dance to when it was first released in the early 70's. The beautiful haunting "She Moved Through The Fair" which he learned as a child from his father, the internationally renowned Irish tenor Patrick O'Hagan is there, as is Brendan Behan's "The Old Triangle"a tribute to the Dubliners, who he's known from his childhood days in Howth, a fishing village on the coast, just outside Dublin. As a teenager he used to play Matty Groves in the Irish pubs for tradional music followers, as well as for tourists and on this new cd he has taken the opportunity to revive his love of the song and the arrangement he did all those years ago.
Overall on "The Irish Connection 2" you can hear and follow the journey that Sean Patrick Michael Sherrard / Johnny Logan has taken from his early days, at 17 working in Irish pubs and listening to the artists, who made this music famous, to the theatres and stages he appears on today. He has recorded each song with love and respect and with a treatment that mixes Cajun and soul with traditional and even a little punk. The rhythm tracks were all recorded with his own band in Denmark and the traditional instruments recorded, on the west coast of Ireland, by the renowned traditional musician, Ronan Brown. There are also 3 original songs: " The Irish Soul" he has co-written with Boe Larson and it is exactly what the title and the first line of the chorus describe, "Come on let's dance"!
The other 2 songs he has written himself."Independant Man" is an autobiographical look at certain aspects of his life. Lastly there is "Ellen's Song", a tribute to his mother who passed away in 2011. Her 2 favourite songs to sing at a party were "The Spinning Wheel" and "The Dublin Saunter", both are given a mention in the song as are the fishing village Howth and Killkenny, the town/city where his mother was born. Alongside Boe Larson his producer, he, acting as executive producer has come up with a collection of songs which he hopes will make you laugh, cry, dream and dance, while no one is watching. Full of atmosphere and emotion The Irish Connection 2 stands out as tribute to a small country, with a wonderful people, full of heart and soul.
"The Irish Soul"
Body Of An American
The cadillac stood by the house
And the yanks they were within
And the tinker boys they hissed advice
‚Hot –wire her with a pin’
We turned and shook as we had a look
In the room where the dead men lay
So big Jim Dwyer made his last trip
To the home where his father’s laid
Fifteen minutes later
We had our first taste of whiskey
There were uncles giving lectures
On ancient Irish history
The men all started telling jokes
And the women they got frisky
By five o’clock in the evening
Every bastard there was pissed
Fare thee well going away
There’s nothing left to say
Farewell to New York city boys
To Boston and PA
He took them out
With a well – aimed clout
And was often heard to say
I’m a free born man of the USA
He fought the champ in Pittsburgh,
And he slashed him to the ground
He took on Tiny Tartanella
And it only went one round
He never had no time for reds
For drink nor dice nor whores
And he never threw a fight
When the fight was right
So they sent him off to war
Fare the well gone away
There’s nothing left to say
With a slainte joe and Erin go
My love’s in Amerikay
The calling of the rosary
Spanish winde from far away
I’m a free born man of the USA
This morning on the harbour
When I said goodbye to you
I remember how I swore
I’d come back to you one day
And as the sunset came to meet
The evening on the hill,
I told you I’d always love,
always did, and I always will
Fare thee well gone away
There’s nothing let to say
‚cept to adieu
To your eyes as blue
As the water in the bay
To big Jim Dwyer
The man of wire
Who was often heard to say
I’m a free born man of the USA
I’m a free born man of the USA
I’m a free born man of the USA
Dearg Doom
My love is colder than black marble by the sea
My heart is older than the cold oak tree
I am the flash of silver in the sun
When you see me coming you'd better
Run...run...Run....
From Dearg Doom
You speak in whispers of the devils I have slain
By the fire of my silver Devil’s Blade
And still you dare to flaunt yourself at me
I don’t want you. I don’t need you
I don’t love you, can’t you see
I’m Dearg Doom
I’m Dearg Doom
And when the stars go out
You can hear me shout
„Two heads are better than none, one hundred heads are so much better than one“
I am a man who was born blind to pain
And, Iike a hawk, I’ll swoop and swoop again
I am the flash of Hawkeye in the sun
When you see me coming you'd better
run...run...run...
From Dearg Doom
From Dearg Doom
And when the stars go out
You can hear me shout
„Two heads are better than none, one hundred heads are so much better than one“
Ellen’s Song
When the wind blows over that harbour wall
in our village by the sea
The years roll back and once again, your standing here with me,
I hear your voice, you call my name,
I turn once more and I see,
The love light shining in your eyes
Where it will always be.
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till we meet once again
May the sun always shine upon your face
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till this road meets its end
Then once more I will feel your warm embrace,
Will you sing to me, the spinning wheel, then stroll round Stephens green,
Walk once more, down Kilkenny streets and places you have been,
Will your laughter echo through all the years and the heartache you have seen,
Can we talk once more of better times and share once more a dream
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till we meet once again
May the sun always shine upon your face
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till this road meets its end
Then once more I will feel your warm embrace,
fare thee well.........
Always torn between the distance and two shores,
I know how much that broke your heart.
I hope you found that peace that you were looking for,
In that light beyond the dark.
I hear your voice, as you call my name,
I turn once more and I see,
The love light shining in your eyes
Where it will always be
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till we meet once again
May the sun always shine upon your face
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till this road meets its end
Then once more I will feel your warm embrace,
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen, till we meet once again
May the sun always shine upon your face
Fare thee well, lovely Ellen
Fairytale Of New York
It was Christmas Eve babe
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me, won’t see another one
And then, he sang a song,
The rare old mountain dew
I turned my face away
And dreamed about you
Got on the lucky one
Came in eighteen to one
I’ve got a feeling
This year’s for me and you
So happy Christmas
I love you baby
I can see a better time
When all our dreams come true
They’ve got cars
Big as bars
The’ve got rivers of gold
When the wind goes right through you
It’s no place for the old
When you first took my hand
On a cold Christmas Eve
You promised me
Broadway was waiting for me
You were handsome,
You were pretty,
Queen of New York City.
When the band finished playing
They howled out for more
Sinatra was swinging
All the drunks they were singing
We kissed on the corner
Then danced through the night
And the boys of NYPD choir
Were singing „Galway Bay“
And the bells were ringing
Out for Christmas day
You’re a bum
You’re a punk
You’re an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip
In that bed
You scum bag
You maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God
It’s our last
The boys of NYPD choir
Were singing „Galway Bay“
And the bells were ringing
Out for Christmas day
I could have been someone.
Well so could anyone.
You took my dreams from me,
When I first found you.
I kept them with me babe,
I put them with my own,
Can’t make it all alone,
I’ve built my dreams around you.
The boys of NYPD choir
Were singing „Galway Bay“
And the bells were ringing
Out for Christmas day
Galway Girl
I took a stroll down the old long walk
Of the day I-ay – I – ay,
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
On a grand soft day - I - ay.
And I ask you friends, what’s a fella to do ?
Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then, I’d be taking a whirl
Down the Salthill Prom with a Galway Girl
We were halfway there when the rain came down
On the day, I – ay – I ay
She took me up to her flat downtown
On a grand soft day I – ay
And I ask you friends, what’s a fella to do?
Because her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand, and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Galway Girl
When I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you friend, what would you do?
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
See I’ve travelled around, I’ve been all over the world
Boys,
But I ain't never seen nothing like a Galway girl – Hey !
Independent man
Had my share of Palaces and the road that leads to hell,
Broke so many promises, on dreams I couldn’t sell.
A Vagabond or Troubadour, sometimes to hard to tell,
I tossed my coin and chased my dreams beyond the wishing well
But I never sold my independence, to no sinner on my way,
never bowed my head to satisfy demand,
I never owed my independence, to the sins of yesterday,
I never tried to make You understand,
I’m an „Independent Man“
Been alone in Paradise, with nowhere left to go
Put my faith in honesty, a friend I used to know
In every town I left behind, a love that failed to grow
The victim of no circumstance, I chose that fire below
But I never sold my independence, to no sinner on my way, never bowed my head to
Satisfy demand,
I never owed my independence to the sins of yesterday,
I never tried to make you understand,
I’m an „Independent Man“
My expectations always left me wanting more
I walked that road with no regret
I climbed each mountain and I opened every door
And All I ever asked for was respect
Cause I’m an „Independent Man“
I never sold my independence, to no sinner on my way, never bowed my head to satisfy demand,
I never owed my independence to the sins of yesterday, and I never tried to make you understand,
I never sold my independence, to no sinner on my way, never bowed my head to satisfy demand,
I never owed my independence to the sins of yesterday, and I never tried to make you understand,
I’m an „Independent Man“
Irish Heartbeat
Oh won’t you stay, stay awhile
With your own ones
Don’t ever stray
Stray so far from your own ones
This old world is so cold
Don’t care nothing for your soul
You share, with your own ones
Don’t rush away, rush away
From your own ones
Just one more day, one more day
With your own ones
Cause this old world is so cold
It don't care nothing for your soul
You share with your own ones
There’s a stranger,
And he’s standing, standing at your door,
May be your best friend,
Might be your brother,
You may never know,
I’m going back, going back
To my own ones
Back to talk, talk awhile
With my own ones
Cause this old world is so cold
It don't care nothing for your soul
That you share, with your own ones
This old world is so cold
It don't care nothing for your soul
You share, with your own ones.
Irish Soul
The night is young. ,n The music is loud
The bands playing on , to the waiting crowd
I see you there, standing on your own.
No time for hesitation
No time to be alone
Come on let’s dance
Let’s get out of control
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
Come on let’s dance
Before the night gets old
Let it loose, let it roll
Into the Irish Soul
The bands getting louder, the beat moves on
I’m holding you closer, with every song
Listening to your heart, beating double time,
Before the night is over, gonna make you mine
Come on let’s dance
Let’s get out of control
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
Come on let’s dance
Before the night gets old
Let it loose, let it roll
Into the Irish Soul
Why wait any longer for this moment to begin, we both know that it’s right.
Why wait any longer when It’s time to let me in
Come on, make it happen, tonight
Come on let’s dance
Let’s get out of control
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
Come on let’s dance
Before the night gets old
Let it loose, let it roll
Into the Irish Soul
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
To the beat of my heart and the rhythm of the Irish Soul
Lannigan’s Ball
In the town of Athy, one Jeremy Lannigan battered away till he hadn’t a shilling
His father died and made him a man again, left him a farm and ten acres of land
Myself to be sure, I got invitations, for all the boys and girls I might ask,
Having been asked, my friends and relations, they danced like bees around a sweet cake
Six long months I spent in Dublin, six long month doing nothing at all.
Six long months I spent in Dublin, learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
She stepped out, I stepped in again. I stepped out and she stepped in again
She stepped out, I stepped in again. Learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
There was lashings of drink, wine fort he ladies, potatoes and cake, bacon and tea
Nolans and Dolans, alle the O Grady’s, courting the girls and dancing away.
Songs went round as plenty as water, the harp that once sounded through Tara’s old hall
Biddie Grey and the rat catchers daughter, singing together at Lannigan’s Ball
Six long months I spent in Dublin, six long month doing nothing at all.
Six long months I spent in Dublin, learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
She stepped out, I stepped in again. I stepped out and she stepped in again
She stepped out, I stepped in again. Learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
In the midst of the row miss Kerrigan fainted, God though her cheeks were as red as a rose
The boys all said, they were sure she was painted, she’d taken a small drop too much, I suppose.
Her boyfried Ned Morgan, powerful and able, when he saw his darling stretched out by the wall.
Tore the left leg from und the table and battered the Chaneys at Lannigan’s Ball
Boys oh boys tis then there was ructions, I got a belt from Phelim McHugh
I replied to his introduction and kicked up a terrible hullabaloo
Maloney the piper was near getting smothered, they leapt on his pipes, bellows, chanter and all.
Boy and girls, they all got entangled and that put an end to Lannigan’s Ball
Six long months I spent in Dublin, six long month doing nothing at all.
Six long months I spent in Dublin, learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
She stepped out, I stepped in again. I stepped out and she stepped in again
She stepped out, I stepped in again. Learning to dance for Lannigan’s Ball
Matty Groves
A holiday, a holiday
the first one of the year
Lord Donald’s wife came into church
Some Gospel for to hear
And when the meeting it was done
She took a look around
There she saw little Matty Groves
Walking in the crowd
Come home with me little Matty Groves
Come home with me tonight
Come home with me little Matty Groves
And sleep with me „til light“
I can’t come home, I won’t come home
I can’t come home for my life
For I can tell by the rings on your fingers
That you are Lord Donald’s wife
Well its true I am Lord Donald’s wife
But Lord Donald he's not at home
He's out in the far cornfields,
Bringing the yearlings home
Well Matty Groves he lay down
And he took a little sleep
When he awoke, Lord Donald
Was standing at this feet
Saying „How do you like my feather bed?
And how do you like my sheets?
And how do you like my lady fair
Who lies in your arms asleep?“
„Oh well I like your feather bed
And well I like your sheets
But better I like your lady wife
Who lies in my arms asleep“.
„Well, get up! Get up!“ Lord Donald cried
„Get up as quick as you can!
And let it never be said in fair Ireland
That i slew a naked man“
„I can’t get up, I won’t get up
I can’t get up for my life!
For you have two fine beaten swords
And I've but a pocket knife“
„Well It’s true I have two beaten swords
And they cost me deep in the purse.
„But you shall have the better of them
And I shall have the worse“
„And you will strike the very first blow
and strike it like a man!
And I will strike the very next blow
And I’ll kill you if I can“
I’ll kill you if I can
When Matty struck the very first blow
And he hurt Lord Donald sore
Lord Donal struck the very next blow
And Matty struck no more
And then Lord Donald he took his wife
And he sat her upon his knee
Now Who do you like the better of us,
little Matty Groves or me?“
Then Lord Donalds wife did speak,
And never heard speak so free
„I’d rather kiss dead Matty’s lips
than your’s in your finery“
Then Lord Donald he jumped up
And loudly he did bawl
He drew his sword and pinned his wife
To the back of a wall
To the back of a wall
„A grave, a grave!“ Lord Donald cried
„To put these lovers in!
But bury my lady at the top
For she was of noble kin.“
She Moved Through The Fair
My young love said to me my father won’t mind
And my mother won’t slight you for your lack of kind
Then she moved closer to me and this she did say
It will not be long till our wedding day
Then she stepped away from me and she moved through the fair
And fondly I watched her move here and go there
Then she made her way homeward with one star awake
As the swan in the evening moves over the lake
Last night she came to me, she softly crept in
So softly she came that her feet made no din
Then she lay her hand on me and this she did say
It will not be long long long love till our weeding day
The Holy Ground
Adieu to you my Dinah, ten thousand times adieu
We’re going away from the Holy Ground and the girls that we love true
We will sail the salt sea over and then return for sure
To see again the girls we love and the Holy Ground once more
Adieu to you my Dinah, ten thousand times adieu
We’re going away from the Holy Ground and the girls that we love true
We will sail the salt sea over and then return for sure
To see again the girls we love and the Holy Ground once more
Fine girl you are!
You’re the girl I do adore
And still I live in hope to see the Holy Ground once more
Fine girl you are!
And now the storm is raging and we are far from shore
The good old ship is tossing about and the riggin’ is all tore
And the secret of my mind, my love, you’re the girl I do adore
And still I live in hopes to see the Holy Ground once more
Fine girl you are!
You’re the girl I do adore
And still I live in hopes to see the Holy Ground once more
Fine girl you are!
And now the strom is over and we are safe and well
We'll go into a Public House and we’ll sit and drink like hell,
We will drink strong ale and porter and we’ll make the rafters roar
And when our money is all spent we’ll go to sea once more
Fine girl you are!
You’re the girl I do adore
And still I live in hopes to see the Holy Ground once more
Fine girl you are!
Fine girl you are!
You’re the girl I do adore
And still I live in hopes to see the Holy Ground once more
The Old Triangle
A hungry feeling came o’er me stealing
All the mice were squealing in my prison cell
And the old triangle went jingle jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
To begin the morning the screw was bawling
‚Get up you bowsie and clean up your cell’
And the old triangle went jingle jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
The lags were sleeping, Humpy Gussy was peeping
As I lay there weeping for my girl Sal
And the old triangle went jingle jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
Up in the female prison, there are seventy five women
And among them, I wish I did dwell
Then the old triangle could go jingle jangle
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
All along the banks of the Royal Canal
Nature Of Love

Lyrics and Songs of Nature of Love:
Facts
A good deal is written about singers with an exceptional talent. Many long to be exceptional in
the vibrant and ever faster moving music business. Johnny Logan is! To this day no one else
managed to win three times at the Eurovision Song Contest (in 1980 as singer of What's another
year, in 1987 as singer, songwriter and composer of Hold Me Now, and in 1992 as songwriter
and composer of Why me). His extraordinary success aside, his talent as a singer is outstanding.
Those who ever saw him perform live, can't get over the amazing qualities this ever humble 'lad'
carries in his voice.
Johnny Logan was born in 1954 as Sean Patrick Michael Sherrard in Melbourne, Australia. Three
years later his family moved to Ireland. From then on Sean was constant company to his father on
his tours. He learned to play the guitar and wrote his first songs at the age of 13. He did not find
much fulfillment in his apprenticeship as an electrician and was grateful when he was offered the
lead in an Irish musical. Shortly after, in 1980, filmmaker and composer Shay Healy discovered him
at this same show and offered Johnny Logan his song What's another Year to sing.
This was 30 years ago and in celebration of this anniversary Johnny Logan is finally releasing an
album in Germany. For the first time he unites all three winning songs. All other songs were
produced in the past years, musically sharing the limelight with his worldwide hits. In the years
between Johnny Logan, either by design or destiny, moved a bit away from what his name stood
for. After the enormous success of Hold me now(6 million tracks sold) the pressure to deliver
another hit of this magnitude was big. This resulted in a interesting effect: instead of writing a
second Hold me now Johnny Logan went to explore other musical directions: rock, soul and folk
music. He continued writing ballads, but chose not to offer them to the record companies. Not until
the release of the song and album Nature of Love did the harmonic puzzle fall into place to
incorporate his Grand-Prix hits. You could say that the album to Hold me Now took Johnny Logan
20 years to finally compose.
As in his preceding albums Irish Connection (2007 number 1 in Denmark (platinum), Sweden
(gold) and Norway (double platinum)) and Irishman in America (2008), Irish folk-instruments like
the Tin Whisthle and Lambeg Drums are part of the ensemble.
Not forgetting his roots Johnny Logan is representing his native Ireland in the preliminaries to this
year's Eurovision Song Contes... albeit only as member of the jury. Far more than an icon of the
Eurovision Song Contest, Johnny Logan with his new album Nature of Love gives testimony to
stardom for all to hear.
Between Love And Hate
Between love and hate there’s a thin line
In the balance of a heart
Through the tender thread of time
We don’t communicate through that thin line
We slowly drift apart to a place outside the heart
Between love and hate
There is a river – leads to an ocean
And it’s waters ebb and flow under it’s sky
Love is a stranger lost in that river
Searching for somewhere to belong
And not knowing why
So many times we believe we see the shore
Only to realise there’s more
Between love and hate there’s a thin line...
There is a silence without a healing
Cause nobody knows how to forgive without a voice
Stuck at a crossroads here in that silence
Leading us closer to the edge without a choice
How many times have we tried to walk away
Believing there’s nothing left to say
Between love and hate there’s a thin line...
Between love and hate
There’s an open wound that need to heal
Between love and hate
There’s a part of me that needs to feel
Between love and hate
There’s a part us I know was real
I know it was real
INSTRUMENTAL
Between love and hate there’s a thin line...

Hold me now
Don't
don't close your heart to how you feel
Dream
and don't be afraid the dream's not real
Close your eyes
pretend it's just the two us again
Make believe
this moment's here to stay
Touch
touch me the way you used to do
I know
tonight could be all I have with you
From now on
you'll be with someone else instead of me
So tonight
let's build this memory
And for the last time
Hold me now
don't cry
don't say a word just
Hold me now
and I
will know though we're apart
we'll always be together
forever in love
What do you say when words are not enough
Time
time will be kind once we're apart
Your tears
tears will have no place in your heart
I wish I
could say how much I'll miss you when you're gone
and my love for you will go on and on and...
Hold me now
don't cry
don't say a word just
Hold me now
and try
to understand that
I hope at last you've found
what you've been searching for
and though I won't be there anymore
I will always love you...
don't say a word just
Hold me now
and I
will know though we're apart
we'll always be together
forever in love
What do you say when words are not enough
What can I say now my words are not enough
Lyrics: Sean Sherrard
Last Days Of Beautiful
Sold out and busted on another mans shore
The heartache between us is an open war
Whatever happens through that broken door
It wont find me a healing anymore
But I remember the last days of beautiful
The sunlight dancing in your hair
When the power of love was strong enough
What were we thinking of?
What was I thinking of?
In the last days of beautiful
No flower of comfort in a jealous seed
Your train’s been running at a different speed.
And there’s no future when a rose has to bleed
I know that I can’t be the man you need
But I remember the last days of beautiful...
I won’t stand and watch you walk away
Leave a broken man behind
I dont care what people say
I’m gonna hold you one more time
In the last days of beautiful
But I remember the last days of beautiful...

Shame On You
Did you think I’d be lonely – lonely and blue
Did you think I’d go crazy – crying over you
Was that what I was, supposed to do
When you said that we were through
Did you think that by leaving – saying goodbye
My world would crumble – I’d breakdown and cry
All your decieving – living a lie
Someday your gonna wonder why
Shame on you - treating me that way
Taking me for granted – every single day
Shame on you – treating me so bad
Don’t you know my love was the best you ever had
Shame on you
You played my emotion – called me a fool
Told all your close friends – did you think that was cool
Lying and cheating – breaking every rule
But why did you have to be so cruel
Shame on you...
Shame on you
The door’s that way
Close it when you’re leaving
That’s all I got to say
Move on out – leave a memory behind
I don’t need that heartache – I don’t have the time
Shame on you
Solo
Shame on you...

Shine On
When the day is harder than it’s ever been
And the road is longer than you’ve ever seen
When you think it’s all over you’re not strong enough
I’ll be beside you to give you love
When the darkness surrounds you
and you’re all alone
When you need a friend to lead you home
Someone to hold you – someone to care
Call my name I’ll be there
Shine on – sweet emotion
Love be a reason to light up my way
Sail with me on a clear blue ocean
Shine on for me today
When the night is lonely
And you’re filled with fear
Remember the one who is always near
I’ll be your comfort – I’ll dry your tears
I’ll come and hold you ’till the night disappears
Shine on – sweet emotion...
Lead me to your heart
Give me ev’rything you’ve got
Higher and higher
Don’t you ever – don’t you ever stop
Shine on – sweet emotion...

Solid Ground
Did you find that road
To the rainbows end
Through your dreams of yesterday
Was it ev’rything your heart desired
Did you make it all the way
Now the summer’s gone – and the autumn’s here
An the skies are turning grey
Will you walk with me till the waters edge
At the closing of the day
Here’s to all those who have crossed our path
And have raised in promise the parting glass
When we meet again as the sun goes down
May we meet as one - on solid ground
Well I hope you found your happiess
And a place where you belong
And the time we spent together
Was a time that lingered on
At the crossroads where we said goodbye
Many faces are now gone
But the memory of that time we shared
Always helped to keep me strong
Here’s to all those who have crossed our path...
SOLO
Now the summer’s gone – and the autumn’s here...
Here’s to all those who have crossed our path...

The Nature Of Love
angel of mercy - i know your fears
i've made you lonely - i've seen your tears
all this confussion - in my lost and jealous heart
the one i i always wanted - was the one i tore apart
but in my insecurity i found myself in you
and the dreams that are foreever
theyr’re the ones that you made true
that's the nature of love
that's the nature of love
it's a pow'er from above
suddenly it arrives and you realize
that’s the nature of love
dancing in circles – afraid of letting go
holding one another – then we let each other know
that nothing is forever – but i can never let you go
that's the nature of love
that's the nature of love
it's a power from above
suddenly it arrives and you realize
that's the nature of love
that's the nature of love
and it’s never enough
when i look in your eyes
then i realize
how are we suppose to understand
all of the emotions when a woman loves a man
that's the nature of love...

Why me?
Sometimes I watch you passing by my window
and sometimes I watch you passing through my dreams
and sometimes when I look at you
you take my breath away
Sometimes I try and understand your reason
you choose to feel the way you feel about me
and sometimes when I turn around
and you're there like today
and I wanna say
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe it
I keep on wondering why
I’m such a lucky guy
Why me
I look at you and I ask myself
why me
Sometimes I lie awake just to watch you sleeping
and listen to the beating of your heart
and sometimes when you're lying there
you take my breath away
and I wanna walk you and say
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe that it's me
who's gonna be holdning you in these arms tonight
and why it's me
who's gonna be the one to make you feel all right
tonight
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe it
I keep on wondering why

Lyrics: Sean Sherrard
What's another year
I've been waiting such a long time,
looking out for you
But you're not here
What's another year?
I've been waking such a long time,
reaching out for you
But you aren't near
What's another year?
What's another year
For someone who's lost everything that he owns?
What's another year
For someone who's getting used to being alone?
I've been praying such a long time
It's the only way to hide the fear
What's another year?
What's another year
For someone who's lost everything that he owns?
What's another year
For someone who's getting used to being alone?
I've been crying such a long time
With such a lot of pain in every tear
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
Lyrics: Shay Healy
When A Womand Loves A Man
Lately I’ve been told ’bout the distance that we feel
Whenever words are hard to find
About the tears and the wounds that never heal
How emotions leave us blind
How every time what we believe we find the way
We hurt each other with the things we never say
Tell me when a woman loves a man
Why is it so hard to understand
When she’s giving everything she can
It’s still not enough
Maybe it’s the heart we have to blame
When we turn the words around again
But I know it will always be the same
When there is love
When a woman loves a man
Maybe paradise is the promise in her eyes
maybe heaven’s in her smile
So many broken roads always leading to goodbye
Pretending she’llbe gone a while
I don’t believe that the music goes away
I do believe it’s getting stronger every day
Tell me when a woman loves a man...
And sometimes there’s – there’s confusion in our way
We need each other more and more
To take away the pain - and make the feeling right
I wanna feel that way tonight
Tell me when a woman loves a man...

Irishman In America

Release: 01-30-2009
Lyrics and Songs of Irishman in America:
Facts
When the then 25-year-old Johnny Logan stepped on stage at the Grand Prix d'Eurovision in
Den Haag, the spectators hadn't yet realized, that they would be experiencing a future
superstar. With the mega hit What's Another Year the sympathetic Irishman sang himself
directly into the hearts of a million-public and turned into the swarm of a whole generation,
over night. In 1987 he managed what no artist had ever managed before him: he won the
desired trophy anew in Brussels, with the song Hold Me Now, which turned him into a
legend. The power ballade - composed by Logan himself - reached 2nd place in the UK
Single Charts and was sold, worldwide, over six million times. In 1992 Johnny Logan won the
Grand Prix for the third time, as the composer of the song Why me, sung by Linda Martin.
But Johnny Logan is far more than a Eurovisions-Icon. The exceptional singer and composer
has shown world format with numerous other songs and albums of Evergreen quality and
considerably influenced the pop scenery. More than 500 million spectators viewed his Grand
Prix victories worldwide - an impressive basis for Johnny Logans further musical career. But
still only a basis from which Johnny Logan consequently and, unimpressed by the broad
media presence (eleven performances at Top Of The Pops and more than 40 performances
on television a year), developed his art and established himself as a singer.
Johnny Logan was born in 1954 as Sean Patrick Michael Sherrard in the Australian
Melbourne. His father Patrick O'Hagan was an irish star tenor, who was allowed to perform in
the White House three times on the line of his career: for John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B.
Johnson and Richard Nixon. When Johnny Logan was three years old, the family moved to
Ireland. At the age of only twelve, Johnny accompanied his father on tours to Australia and
New Zealand. To pass time when they were on tour, father and son sang together in the
changing rooms of the large concert halls. This time had a forming influence on Logan and
strengthened his wish to become a musician as well. At the age of 13 he learned to play the
guitar and wrote his first songs. The rest is history of music. Johnny Logan did not only
perform for Pope Johannes Paul II, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, but also appeared
with the top of the international music industry such as Montserrat Caballé, Helen Shapiro or
the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Ever since, the number of his projects reflects his
diversity, which covers every colour and style of music - from Irish Folk over hits to songs
and soundtracks for TV-series and movie films -.
Johnny Logan always stayed true to his music and to himself. 28 years after his first won
Grand Prix, Platinum honours and sold out concert tours prove, that quality implements and
that hand made music has no sell by date.
On his new CD Irishman In America, Johnny Logan returns to his musical roots. Twelve
great songs between Irish Folk, american classics and grand pop melodies impressively
demonstrate the process of an exceptionally talented musician - an album that can be
placed in the long line of Johnny Logans great success without a problem.
Alabama – The Doors
Well, show me the way
To the next whisky bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
Show me the way
To the next whisky bar
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
For if we don't find
The next whisky bar
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must die
Oh, moon of Alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whisky, oh, you know why
Oh, moon of Alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whisky, oh, you know why
Well, show me the way
To the next little girl
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
Show me the way
To the next little girl
Oh, don't ask why
Oh, don't ask why
For if we don't find
The next little girl
I tell you we must die
I tell you we must die
I tell you, I tell you
I tell you we must die
Oh, moon of Alabama
We now must say goodbye
We've lost our good old mama
And must have whisky, oh, you know why
Belle of Belfast - I’ll Tell Me Ma – Van Morrison feat. The Chieftans
I'll tell me Ma when I go home,
The boy's won't leave the girls alone.
They'll pull my hair, they stole my comb,
Well that's alright till I go home.
[Chorus:]
She is handsome. She is pretty.
She is the bell of Belfast City.
She is courtin' one, two, three.
Please won't you tell me, who is she?
Albert Mooney say's he loves her.
All the boy's are fighting for her.
They knock at the door and ring at the bell
Sayin' "Oh my true love, are you well"?
Out she comes as white as snow,
Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes.
Oul Jenny Murray say's she'll die
If you don't get the fella
With the roving eye.
Let the wind and the rain and hail blow high
And the snow come tumbling from the sky,
She's as nice as apple pie.
She'll get her own lad by and by.
When she gets a lad of her own,
She won't tell her Ma when she gets home.
Let them all come as they will
For it's Albert Mooney she loves still.
[Repeat 1st Verse and Chorus]
Bridges Of My Heart
oh my darling son
what have you done
you traded your possesions
for a foreign distant son
and the love you left behind you
on the field’s where you once grew
beat’s the heart that will always bind you
to the one that was allways true
the bridges that your building
will i never understand
the bridges that must take you
to your mansions made of sand
and the ocean’s now between us
hold the two of us apart
and the dreams that you followed
across the bridges of my heart:
oh my darling son
where have you gone
you promised your tomorrow’s
to where they don’t belong
and the dreams that were forever
are now the dreams you left behind
in the heart’s of all who love you
in another place and time
the bridges that your building
will i never understand
the bridges that must take you
to your mansions made of sand
and the ocean’s now between us
hold the two of us apart
and the dreams that you followed
across the bridges of my heart:
solo
the bridges that your building
will i never understand
the bridges that must take you
to your mansions made of sand
and the ocean’s now between us
hold the two of us apart
and the dreams that you followed
across the bridges of my heart
across the bridges of my heart

Dancing With My Father
dancing with my father
stepped into your wold the other day
through a photgraph. time is fading grey
closed my eyes; saw the silver in your hair.
looked into my heart, found your waiting there,
so many time’s i’ve been alone and unsure
you were always’s at my door.
i go dancing with my father through the streets of yesterday.
to the music or tomorrow and the words i heard him say
through the halls of laughter.
to the love behind his smile
then i dance with him a moment and i listen for a while
and did i tell you that i miss you more each day
and how you never realy went away
as i go dancing with my fahter through the streets of yesterday
to the songsthat as a man i learned to play
every memory is a page within my heart
that hold’s a promise, we’ll never be apart.
through the year’s i have learned to understand the love ‘ we
share can even mend a broken man
you even showed me, how to say goodbye,
dry the tears you knew i’d cry
i go dancing with my father through the streets of yesterday.
to the music or tomorrow and the words i heard him say
through the halls of laughter.
to the love behind his smile
then i dance with him a moment and i listen for a while
and did i tell you that i miss you more each day
and how you never realy went away
as i go dancing with my fahter through the streets of yesterday
to the songsthat as a man i learned to play
now i know that everything must change
nothing ever stays the same
time goes bye but the song it will remain
the dance will stay the same
i go dancing with my father through the streets of yesterday.
to the music or tomorrow and the words i heard him say
through the halls of laughter.
to the love behind his smile
i go dancing with my father through the streets of yesterday.
to the music or tomorrow and the words i heard him say
through the halls of laughter.
to the love behind his smile
i go dancing with my father through the streets of yesterday.
to the music or tomorrow and the words i heard him say
through the halls of laughter.
to the love behind his smile

Paddy on the Railway – The Pogues
In eighteen hundred and forty-one
The corduroy breeches I put on
Me corduroy breeches I put on
To work upon the railway, the railway
Im weary of the railway
Poor paddy works on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-two
From hartlepool I moved to crewe
Found myself a job to do
A working on the railway
I was wearing corduroy breeches
Digging ditches, pulling switches
Dodging pitches, as I was
Working on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-three
I broke the shovel across me knee
I went to work for the company
On the leeds to selby railway
I was wearing corduroy breeches
Digging ditches, pulling switches
Dodging pitches, as I was
Working on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-four
I landed on the liverpool shore
My belly was empty me hands were raw
With working on the railway, the railway
Im sick to my guts of the railway
Poor paddy works on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-five
When daniel oconnell he was alive
When daniel oconnell he was alive
And working on the railway
I was wearing corduroy breeches
Digging ditches, pulling switches
Dodging pitches, as I was
Working on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-six
I changed my trade to carrying bricks
I changed my trade to carrying bricks
To work upon the railway
I was wearing corduroy breeches
Digging ditches, pulling switches
Dodging pitches, as I was
Working on the railway
In eighteen hundred and forty-seven
Poor paddy was thinking of going to heaven
The old bugger was thinking of going to heaven
To work upon the railway, the railway
Im sick to my death of the railway
Poor paddy works on the railway
I was wearing corduroy breeches
Digging ditches, pulling switches
Dodging pitches, as I was
Working on the railway
Piece of my Heart – Janis Joplin
(Come on…)
Didn't I make you feel like you were the only man, well yeah,
An' didn't I give you nearly everything that a woman possibly can ?
Honey, you know I did!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I think I've had enough,
But I'm gonna show you, baby, that a woman can be tough.
I want you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby, (break a..)
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah. (have a..)
Hey! Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, yeah.
You know you got it if it makes you feel good,
Oh yes indeed.
You're out on the streets looking good, and baby,
Deep down in your heart I guess you know that it ain't right,
Never never never never never never never hear me when I cry at night.
Baby, I cry all the time!
And each time I tell myself that I, well I can't stand the pain,
But when you hold me in your arms, I'll sing it once again.
I'll say come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah take it!
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. (break a..)
Break another little bit of my heart now, darling, yeah, (come on…)
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby, yeah.
Well, You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good
Guitar
I need you to come on, come on, come on, come on and take it,
Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. (break a…)
Break another little bit of my heart, darling, yeah. (have a)
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it (waaaaahhh)
Take a…Take another little piece of my heart now, baby. (break a…)
Break another little bit of my heart, and darling, yeah yeah (have a)
Have another little piece of my heart now, baby,
You know you got it, child, if it makes you feel good
Rocky Road to Dublin – Luke Kelly
In the merry month of May from my home I started
Left the girls of Tuam nearly broken-hearted
Saluted Father dear, kissed my darlin' Mother
Drank a pint of beer my grief and tears to smother
Then off to reap the corn, and leave where I was born
I cut a stout blackthorn to banish ghost and goblin,
In a bran'new pair of brogues I rattled o'er the bogs
And frightened all the dogs on the rocky road to Dublin,
cho: One, two, three, four, five, hunt the hare and turn her
Down the rocky roaad, and all the ways to Dublin
Whack fol-lol-de-ra.
In Mullingar that night I rested limbs so weary,
Started by daylight next morning light and airy,
Took a drop of the pure, to keep my heart from sinking,
That's an frishman's cure, whene'er he's on for drinking,
To see the lasses smile, laughing all the while,
At my curious style, 'twould set your heart a-bubbling,
They ax'd if I was hired, the wages I required,
Till I was almost tired of the rocky road to Dublin.
In Dublin next arrived, I thought it such a pity,
To be so soon deprived a view of that fine city,
Then I took a stroll out among the quality,
My bundle it was stole in a neat locality;
Something crossed my mind, then I looked behind,
No bundle could I find upon me stick a-wobblin',
Enquiring for the rogue, they said my Connaught brogue
Wasn't much in vogue on the rocky road to Dublin.
From there I got away my spirits never failing,
Landed on the quay as the ship was sailing,
Captain at me roared, said that no room had he,
When I jumped aboard, a cabin found for Paddy
Down among the pigs, I played some funny rigs
Danced some hearty jigs, the water round me bubblin'
When off to Holyhead I wished myself was dead,
Or better far, instead, on the rocky road to Dublin.
The bovs of Liverpool, when we safely landed,
Called myself a fool, I could no longer stand it;
Blood began to boil, temper I was losin'
Poor old Erin's isle they began abusin'
"Hurrah my soul!" sez I, my shillelagh I let fly,
Some Galway boys were by, saw I was a hobble in,
Then with a loud Hurrah, they joined in the affray,
We quickly cleared the way, for the rocky road to Dublin.
Sorry
maybe im in need of redemption
maybe im a sinner too blind to see;
maybe im a broken man who has a walked a crooked mile
maybe ive been lost inside of me
mabe ive been finding way’s and reason’s
how to leave the past in yesterday
travelling a road of dreams to a heart i left behin
praying for a chance to find my way
may there is a way to say “im sorry”
sorry for the way i made you cry
sorry for the shattered dream’s
and the love i made a lie
sorry for the time’s i said goodbye
may i’ve been drifting on an ocean
searching for some hidden sanctuary
or maybe i’m a lonely man wha has been alone too long
maybe i’ve been just too blind to see
may there is a way to say “im sorry”
sorry for the way i made you cry
sorry for the shattered dream’s
and the love i made a lie
sorry for the time’s i said goodbye
so many word’s are left unspoken (yeahhhhhh)
so mayn times we blame our pride
a river flow’s now thru the tears i made you cry
“and i “ i’ve got no more strength
i’ve got no mor pride
solo
may there is a way to say “im sorry”
sorry for the way i made you cry
sorry for the shattered dream’s
and the love i made a lie
sorry for the time’s i said goodbye

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down – The Band
Virgil Caine is the name, and I served on the Danville train,
'Til Stoneman's cavalry came and tore up the tracks again.
In the winter of '65, We were hungry, just barely alive.
By May the tenth, Richmond had fell, it's a time I remember, oh so well,
(Chorus)
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the bells were ringing,
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, and the people were singin'. They went
La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La, La,
Back with my wife in Tennessee, When one day she called to me,
"Virgil, quick, come see, there goes Robert E. Lee!"
Now I don't mind choppin' wood, and I don't care if the money's no good.
Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest,
But they should never have taken the very best. (Chorus)
Like my father before me, I will work the land,
Like my brother above me, who took a rebel stand.
He was just eighteen, proud and brave, But a Yankee laid him in his grave,
I swear by the mud below my feet,
You can't raise a Caine back up when he's in defeat. (Chorus and fade)
This Land is your Land – Pete Seeger
This land is your land and this land is my land
From California to the New York island
From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me
As I went walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that endless skyway
I saw below me that golden valley
This land was made for you and me
I roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
All around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me
When the sun came shining, then I was strolling
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
A voice was chanting as the fog was lifting
This land was made for you and me
Pete Seeger
Waxies Dargle
Says my aul wan to your aul wan
Will ye come to the waxies dargle?
Says your aul wan to my aul wan,
Sure I havent got a farthing.

To see uncle mcardle
But he didnt have half a crown
For to go to the waxies dargle.
What are ye having, will ye have a pint?
Yes, Ill have a pint with you, sir,
And if one of us doesnt order soon
Well be thrown out of the boozer.
Says my aul wan to your aul wan
Will ye come to the galway races?
Says your aul wan to my aul wan,
With the price of my aul lads braces.
I went down to capel street
To the jew man moneylenders
But they wouldnt give me a couple of bob on
My aul lads suspenders.
Chorus
Says my aul wan to your aul wan
We have no beef or mutton
But if we go down to monto town
We might get a drink for nuttin
Heres a piece of good advice
I got from an aul fishmonger:
When food is scarce and you see the hearse
Youll know you have died of hunger.

media (eleven performances at Top of the Pops, Europe-wide on average forty
appearances on TV annually), and established himself as a singer with an enduring

Lyrics and Songs of Nature of Love:
Amazed
Everytime our eyes meet, This feelin' inside me,
Is almost more than I can take, Baby when you touch me,
I can feel how much you love me, And it just blows me away,
I've never been this close to anyone or anything, I can hear your thoughts,
I can see your dreams,.
I don't know how you do what you do, I'm so in love with you,
It just keeps gettin' better, I want to spend the rest of my life,
With you by my side, forever and ever, Every little thing that you do,
Baby I'm amazed by you.
I’m so amazed…
The smell of your skin, The taste of your kiss,
The way you whisper in the dark, Your hair all around me,
Baby you surround me, You touch every place in my heart,
You know it feels just like the first time, Everytime,
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes,
I don't know how you do what you do I'm so in love with you,
It just keeps gettin' better, I want to spend the rest of my life,
With you by my side, forever and ever, Every little thing that you do,
Baby I'm amazed by you.
I’m so amazed..
I’m amazed by you.
Every little thing that you do, I'm so in love with you,
It just keeps gettin' better, I want to spend the rest of my life,
With you by my side, forever and ever, Every little thing that you do,
Baby I’m amazed by.
Every little thing that you do, Baby I'm amazed by you.
Angels
I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're grey and old
'cos I've been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
Chorus:
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call, she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down, a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
Chorus:
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
Repeat chorus:
How Do I Live
How do I,
Get through the night without you?
If I had to live without you,
What kind of life would that be?
Oh, I
I need you in my arms, need you to hold,
You're my world, my heart, my soul,
If you ever leave,
baby you would take away everything good in my life,
and tell me now
How do I live without you?
I want to know,
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go,
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh how do I live?
Without you,
There'd be no sun in my sky,
There would be no love in my life,
There'd be no world left for me.
And I,
Baby I don't know what I would do,
I'd be lost if I lost you,
If you ever leave,
Baby you would take away everything real in my life,
And tell me now,
How do I live without you?
I want to know,
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go,
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh how do I live?
Please tell me baby,
How do I go on?
If you ever leave,
Baby you would take away everything,
I need you with me,
Baby don't you know that you're everything,
Real in my life?
And tell me now,
How do I live without you,
I want to know,
How do I breathe without you?
If you ever go,
How do I ever, ever survive?
How do I, how do I, oh how do I live?
How do I live without you?
How do I live without you baby?
Let's make love
baby ive been drifting away
and dreaming all day
of holding you,
touching you,
the only thing i wanna do
is be with you,
as close to you
as i can be.
lets make love all nite long.
until our strength is gone.
hold on tight,
just let go.
i want to feel you in my soul.
until the sun comes up,
lets make love.
do you know what you do to me,
everything inside of me,
is wanting you,
needing you.
im so in love with you.
look in my eyes,
lets get lost tonite,
in each other.
lets make love all night long.
until our strength is gone.
hold on tight just let go.
i want to feel you in my soul.
until the sun comes up.
lets make love...
One
Is it getting better
Or do you feel the same
Will it make it easier on you now
You got someone to blame
You say
One love
One life
When it's one need
In the night
One love
We get to share it
It leaves you baby
If you don't care for it
Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love
And you want me to go without
Well it's
Too late
Tonight
To drag tha past out
Into the light
We're one
But we're not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other
One
Have you come here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head
Did I ask too much
More than a lot
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got
We're one
But we're not the same
We hurt each other
Then we do it again
You say
Love is a temple
Love a higher law
Love is a temple
Love the higher law
You ask me to enter
But then you make me crawl
And I can't keep holding on
To what you got
When all you got is hurt
(backing : One love)
(backing : One blood)
(backing : One life)
We got to do what we should
One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life
But we're not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other
One
One
Reach For Me
(MULTIMAN / REMEE / TENNANT)
What do you do when you're down
nobody else is around
who's gonna love you forever
who's going down for me and you
Don't know what to do
feeling like a fool
playing by the rules
But every day the world gets stranger to you now
but something's never change
You can always
reach for me
wherever you are
oh baby you can reach for me
no matter how far
It's crazy but some say
that love fades away
but you know
where I'll be
Reach for me
So many lies you could say
something would give you away
nothing lasts forever
except for maybe me and you
Telling like it is
pain and happiness
I'll be there to share it
like no one ever did
The world seems stranger to you now
but something's never change
You can always
reach for me
wherever you are
oh baby you can reach for me
no matter how far
It's crazy but some say
that love fades away
but you know
where I'll be
Reach for me
Oh I'll be there, when you need someone to talk to
need someone to love you yeah, oh yeah
I will be there when it's closing in around you
I'll be the one who'll never doubt you,
you don't have to worry 'bout a thing
You can always
Reach for me
wherever you are
reach for me
no matter how far
but some say
that love fades away
but you know
where I'll be
You can always
reach for me
wherever you are
oh baby you can reach for me
no matter how far
It's crazy but some say
that love fades away
but you know
where I'll be
Reach for me
Taking All The Blame
I wish you could know how I feel right now,
my heart is torn i feel empty inside
I'm telling you straight from a broken heart.
How could there be no end to this,
the hurtin inside and the emptyness
I'm asking you straight from a lonely heart.
It was not supposed to be this way but I need to explain how I feel
I'm taking all the blame all the away from you, simple taste of yesterday I want it to come back
all the away from you I was just a fool to let you slip away - thats why I'm saying
I'm takeing all the blame
It seems to take forever to get to you
impossible dreams will never come true
I'm telling you straight from a desperate heart.
From a desperat heart
I'd pull down a star just to see you glow
I don't wanna loose you I don't wanna know
I'm telling you straight from a broken heart
It was not supposed to be this way but I need to explain how I feel
I'm taking all the blame all the away from you, simple taste of yesterday I want it to come back
all the away from you I was just a fool to let you slip away - thats why I'm saying
I'm takeing all the blame
You brightend up my life when I meet you, but now it's falling apart
Don't push it aside don't just call it a day, don't go any further away
I'm taking all the blame all the away from you, simple taste of yesterday I want it to come back
all the away from you I was just a fool to let you slip away - thats why I'm saying
I'm takeing all the blame
I'm taking all the blame all the away from you, simple taste of yesterday I want it to come back
all the away from you I was just a fool to let you slip away - thats why I'm saying
I'm takeing all the blame
What's another year
Lyrics: Shay Healy
I've been waiting such a long time,
looking out for you
But you're not here
What's another year?
I've been waking such a long time,
reaching out for you
But you aren't near
What's another year?
What's another year
For someone who's lost everything that he owns?
What's another year
For someone who's getting used to being alone?
I've been praying such a long time
It's the only way to hide the fear
What's another year?
What's another year
For someone who's lost everything that he owns?
What's another year
For someone who's getting used to being alone?
I've been crying such a long time
With such a lot of pain in every tear
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
What's another year? (For someone who is getting used to being alone)
Why me?
Sometimes I watch you passing by my window
and sometimes I watch you passing through my dreams
and sometimes when I look at you
you take my breath away
Sometimes I try and understand your reason
you choose to feel the way you feel about me
and sometimes when I turn around
and you're there like today
and I wanna say
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe it
I keep on wondering why
I'm such a lucky guy
Why me
I look at you and I ask myself
why me
Sometimes I lie awake just to watch you sleeping
and listen to the beating of your heart
and sometimes when you're lying there
you take my breath away
and I wanna walk you and say
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe that it's me
who's gonna be holdning you in these arms tonight
and why it's me
who's gonna be the one to make you feel all right
tonight
Why me
I look at you and I get this feeling
why me
I know it's true but I can't believe it
I keep on wondering why
I'm such a lucky guy
Why me
I look at you and I ask myself
Why me
I look at you and I ask myself
Why me
